On the set of Remember Me: week 3

beginning of the week )

Thursday, July 2, 2009. NYU and Washington Square Park.
So on this day my sister and I had evening plans to see Jewel and the cast of West Side Story perform at the Intrepid. It was a pre-taping of the Macy's 4th of July Spectacular. I found out about the free tickets from Jewel's MySpace. We didn't have to be there till 9PM. (More on that in another post.)
So I had to work but sister spent the day on set. Read her account of the day and see her pics here.
So instead of my sister meeting me, I meet her at the park at 5:30. I had my old HP camera with me that day so the quality is not as good as it should be but still not bad photos considering. By the end of the night the battery depleted and the camera shut down :(

July 2, 2009, Washington Sq Park

Now the signs said they'd only be there till 4pm but the on and off HEAVY, AND I MEAN HEAVY rain showers delayed them. Thank the Maker, I have never been so happy for summer showers.

So they were filming a scene in the Park. Emilie and friend walk ahead and then Rob runs after them to catch up. They film it a few times. Must be so annoying to repeat the same thing over and over.

Emilie was wearing a plaid shirt and Rob was wearing tan. Through the gap you can see Emilie and friend pass. Then Rob runs after them.
Watch the videos I took )
As we were waiting the skies opened up and it rained hard again! My sister and I went into Cafe University. While waiting out the rain we had quick dinner. With our time contraint we wouldn't be having a real restuarnt dinner. Around 7:30 the rain lets up and we go back to wait. Finally at 8PM (and thank goodness no later because we had to get uptown) Emilie and Rob come out of the trailer.

Now I know they had a long shoot day with delays and were exhausted but it is a bit disheartening that we didn't even get a wave. We were quiet and a small group and they didn't even look at us. :( It's just a bit disappointing and disheartening to hear other accounts of people who waited around patiently (usually till filming rapped at 5am no less) and they got to take pictures with/get autographs from Rob and/or Emilie. It's like why the frak can't I be that lucky. #$*&!

But I don't want to end this on a bad note. Although we didn't get photos with them it was still frakkin' awesome to be THAT CLOSE to Rob and Emilie and see them make movie magic before my very own eyes. So going back again as often as I can before filming raps. It is such a rush.

SO then we head up to the Intrepid to see Jewel. That will be in another post.

Offical Site and FAQ's about the festival

I went to the opening night at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) and saw the film, Baler

Directed by Mark Meily (2008, 117 minutes, Tagalog and Spanish with English subtitles)

Cast: Jericho Rosales, Anne Curtis, Phillip Salvador, Michael de Mesa, Baron Geisler, Ryan Eigenmann, Joel Torre, etc.

You don't choose love; it chooses you. Which can lead to some awkward situations. Take the case of winsome Feliza Reyes (Anne Curtis), who falls in love with the dashing Celso Resurrecion (Jericho Rosales). Match made in heaven, right? Problem is, it's 1898 and Feliza's father, the Philippine rebel leader Nanding (Phillip Salvador), is leading a siege against the Spanish rifle battalion to which Celso belongs. Come see why Baler, a sweeping historical romance, cleaned up at the Metro Manila Film Awards in 2008.

from Wikipedia
, a band of Spanish soldiers heroically defended Baler (which was not yet the capital municipality of Aurora until 1951) against Filipino forces for 337 long and grueling days. The battle, now referred to as the Siege of Baler, is the setting of a forbidden love between a Mestizo soldier (Jericho Rosales) and a Filipina lass (Anne Curtis) who lived at the end of the 19th century.

No Doubt, with very special guest Paramore. June 26, 2009 7:30PM
It was outdoors at PNC Bank Arts Center, New Jersey. We got lawn seats. First we got there too early (5pm). Parking lot opened 5:30. They made us go to the next exit and around.

It was sunny and hot. Finally summer had arrived!

As they let us into the venue we get rained on. Like hurricane rain and wind. Thunder and lightening. The only thing that would have made it worse was if it hailed. Now we knew there was a chance of scattered thunderstorms and did have ponchos/raincoats but we were still soaked to the bone in a matter of seconds and shivering the entire night. I got so soaked the bills inside by wallet were soaked. I think my cellphone might be broken. It won't turn on. (I'll deal with that later.) And my little notebook/diary I take everywhere because it's like a third arm. Destroyed. Forever swollen pages and bled through ink. Still keeping it though. It has Hayden Christensen's autograph and 2 years worth of notes, ideas, information.

However, No Doubt puts on a kick ass show! Gwen and the boys are the shit! They sang all the songs I was hoping to hear, moved along that stage with great energy and the sound was excellent! Loved the videos/visuals playing in the background.

Set list not in order:
Bathwater
Different People
Don't Speak
End It On This
Ex-Girlfriend
Excuse Me Mr.
Hella Good
Hey Baby
It's My Life
Just A Girl
New
Rock Steady
Running
Simple Kind Of Life
Spiderwebs (they opened with this)
Stand and Deliver
Sunday Morning (closed with this song)
Tragic Kingdom (only a snippet since someone requested it for her Birthday)
Underneath It All

Also: a guy held a sign that he'd been to over 30 No Doubt concerts and he wanted to introduce the band.
Gwen brought him on stage and he did. Lucky bastard.
She was great to the audience. Signed some autographs for people in the front row. She acknowledged us on the lawn who put up with the rain :D

Paramore, who opened, was great too. The closed their set with "Decode" which got me so excited since I only know that song and "I Caught Myself" from the Twilight soundtrack.

So. Worth. It. No Doubt is one of the very few who could make not regret going even with that thunderstorm hurricane.

Monday, June 22, 2009. Cortlandt Alley between White and Walker.

June 23, 2009

I don't want to give any spoilers away. If you want to see spoilerish shots from this night check out [info]rpattzdaily. Basically it was a night shoot between Robert and Chris Cooper.
So I meet up with Vic and Erin. (Jackie meets us a bit later on White St.) First we hang out on Walker Street between Broadway and Lafayette. But the crew told us we had to move because they'd be shooting in the direction we were standing in. So we move around the block to White St. There is a crowd of girls and paps of course. And it rains of course because this June absolutely sucks weather wise.
No Rob yet. But we do see the crew setting up and eating. Eventually the crowd dies down and so we take a walk on Broadway towards Walker. That is where the crowd moved.
Sucks because had Rob taken the White St. way to the set rather than the Walker St. way I would have a good camera shot.
Anyway. So we are in the back behind barricades. And around 9pm Rob with vampire speed comes out, and goes to set. It was so, so fast, there wasn't time for girls to start screaming.
So the 4 of us go eat and then we go back to the set to see what's going on. We couldn't see much because the crew keeps you back and quiet but you can hear a muffled "Action!" and muffled dialogue.
We took some group pics of us but I am not posting them because I look all tired and frizzed out :P
Vic and I couldn't stay so we said goodbye to Erin and Jackie. They stayed till about midnight and said the crowd died down as the night when on and it was just uber cool to see the filming process even if they didn't see much of Rob.

Wednesday, June 24, Thursday June 25. A street fair scene. Somewhere in Little Italy (Mott St/MulberrySt)
Because of my late schedule and complete exhaustion I didn't make it these days, not even for rehearsals. They were night shoots again. The part that makes me upset is that Emilie was there too! And one of the nights I read online about some fan encounters. Around 5 am when shooting was done, Rob came over to the handful of fans who stuck around all night. Took pictures and signed stuff for them. Damn it! *head desk*

Friday, June 26. Some flashback scene shot in Brooklyn, F train station at McDonald Ave
and who cares! I was seeing No Doubt in concert! More on that later

Monday, June 15, 2009. The first day of shooting at NYU (near Washington Square Park)
My friend Erin and I had plans to meet up and scout the set for Rob and Emilie (DeRavin). Unfortunately, I was not feeling well, Erin was exhausted from the indiobravo film festival and to top it all off it rained like a freaking hurricane anyway. Even with an umbrella I got soaked through my shoes on the way to the train.
Soooooo....

Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Second day of shooting at NYU
Me and Erin met around a quarter to 6PM at the southeast corner of Washington Sq Park. NYU is across from the park. There were trailers and (after Monday's crazy fangirl attack) barricades. So me and Erin scope out the neighborhood on all the blocks where the trailers are parked.
So then we wait with the other girls by the barricades. We know that when we hear screams he'll be around. LOL
So we talk about the crazy fangirls who totally had no respect for Rob's personal space, and a bit about Lost and yada, yada.
Then we hear screams. And Rob, with the guards and the umbrella walk across the street headed south to the trailers parked on that side of the street. I didn't even see where he came from.
I was so struck and it was so quick I didn't even get a photo.
Few minutes later he comes out of one trailer and heads into another. Screams again.
Then later he comes back across the street and goes into a NYU building. Now this is when I had the bad angle because the bodyguards were in the my frakin' view!

See the black and white Nike sneakers ;)

That umbrella reminds me of how Michael Jackson is always going around with an umbrella so he doesn't melt. Creepy.

So figuring filming might take a while in the building, Erin and I go get a quick bite at a diner. When we come back trailers are packed up and driving off. Day over. So 30 seconds of Rob, one crappy picture and no sign of Emilie.
round 3 and 4 cut for length )
So here is to week two. *cheers*

Twilight Edward too cool
LMAO this video is a riot! And edited so well.
[info]ladyaeryn, you will love this video for the Buffy > Edward - ness.

Buffy vs Edward Cullen.

In this remixed narrative Edward Cullen from the Twilight Series meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer at Sunnydale High. It's an example of transformative storytelling serving as a critique of Edward's character and generally creepy behavior. Through Buffy's eyes some of the more patriarchal gender roles and sexist Hollywood tropes embedded in the Twilight saga are exposed in hilarious ways. -- This transformative work constitutes a fair-use of any copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US copyright law. Here is a nutshell:
Movie reviews:
-Up saw it on Sunday, June 7th before going to the 100 Monkeys concert. Great movie, sentimental and touching. I cried. A few times. Pixar knows how to make a good story. Also love the Star Wars reference. With the dogs flying like Rogue Squadron. :) I may have nudged my sister hard in the arm with that one, LOL

-Last International Playboy (formally titled Frost), saw Monday, June 8th with sister and a few friends at a free screening at a film school. It had a limited release last week in a NYC theater and will be out on DVD soon. Good movie but my friends who saw it last year at GenArt Film Festival (if you go to the link you'll see my sis and I were working that event and missed out on seeing the film then) said the version called Frost was better. They said too much was edited out and the flow was, as a result, messed up. Once we heard about all the scenes missing and were filed in on some plot holes I agreed with them, even without seeing the other version. And they said it was only about 10 minutes worth so they can't see why it was edited down.
Then we spoke to the producer and writer/director (they were there for a Q&A). They told them about enjoying the Frost version (the took the critique well) and so they offered to send each of us a copy of the Frost version in the mail :)

-Wall-E rented this. Again Pixar makes a good story. Loved the no talking in the beginning. Loved the comedy and Eva rocked. She is a funny, badass robot.

-Baler Ok this I really need to make a better, detailed and link heavy post about in the future. I saw it at the first annual indiobravo film festival. Good and very sad movie but I'll fill you in another post. It really deserves it's own.

-Spring Breakdown, rented a direct to dvd movie staring Parker Posey, Rachel Dratch and Amy Pohler. Only saw it because they are funny ladies. It was a typical stupid comedy. There were moments I did LOL. Especially, seeing Rachel Dratch flirting with the hot guy who was on the soap Passions as Fox and was the Green Arrow on Smallville.

-Doubt, really good, well written film. Never really answers your questions, your "doubt" just like it would be in real life. Makes you think. Great performances by Philip Seymore Hoffman, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. If you saw this film and want to discuss spoilers, well talk about them in the comments.

Now a meme stolen from [info]jedi_em
01. Anyone who looks at this entry has to post this meme and their current wallpaper at their livejournal. (Seriously, though - no pressure.)
02. Explain in five sentences why you're using that wallpaper.
03. Don't change your wallpaper before doing this. The point is to see what you had on.

I am a creature of habit. I have had this desktop since ...I guess around the movie came out. Everyone in my home is sick of looking at it. They tell me to change it. But I still love it and have no plans to change it.
Love the colors and composition. Love the pretty pictures and the poetic text.

Oh and I saw Robert Pattinson for 30 seconds on Tuesday, June 15th crossing the street by NYU.
NOW THAT will get it's own post this week when I have more time and am not exhausted.

100 Monkeys plays at Hill Country NYC

  • Jun. 14th, 2009 at 9:20 PM
Twilight Jasper
I have had such a busy week. I need to now catch up and journal everything that happened.

Last Sunday, June 7th, my friends and I saw 100 Monkeys play at Hill Country (which is like a bar and restaurant in NYC). For those who don't know Jackson Rathbone is the band. Jackson plays Jasper Hale in Twilight

We thought we'd have dinner there too since it is also a restaurant but when my sister and I got there at 5:15, we saw a small line for 100 Monkeys. (So we didn't get to have the steak and potatoes dinner at Hill Country. Just bad pizza around the corner when were we switching off with friends saving our spot on line.) Soon our friend Erin joined us. Followed by Loretta and Nadine. Then Erin's friends Jenni and Jax. The Jax's friend who's name I don't remember.

So we get in, get a good spot near the stage. And except for the tall blond in front of me who was the bane of my night I had a decent view :D

So we were downstairs, where the bar was and cleared of the tables. It was a small place but didn't fill up completely but am positive the show sold out. Our show was all ages which is odd because it was their evening performance (8PM). They had a show in the afternoon that was 21 and over only, but at another venue. That one was limited to 100 tickets and sold out fast! We then found out the afternoon show also had an autograph & photo session! I would have loved to be there as well!

I was hoping Robert would be there. The Twilight cast is known to attend friends' shows and Rob is in NYC. The lack of security & paparazzi told us Rob wasn't there. I later saw on the internet he was with TomStu all day. The looked lost LOL. Like they had anything better to do then come see Jackson's show - hehe. I kid, I kid.
I think Rob didn't want to steal their thunder.

Anyway, the opening band Tin Tin Can and 100 Monkeys were hanging out to the left of the stage. There was no backstage.

Jackson was wearing a hat and a fake mustache. Eventually he took the mustache off lol

6-7-09 Hill Country

Isn't he a cutie!

want to see more right? I also found some videos from that night on youtube )
So after the show they went upstairs to do two interviews. Jax heard they would be back afterwards. So by this point everyone except, me, my sister, Erin and Jax are waiting. But it was getting late and my sister and I had a 11:19 bus to catch otherwise we'd have a very expensive cab ride to take home. So sadly we leave. And our stupid bus was 20 minutes late which was making me nervous a fck! And pissed cause I knew we missed our chance to meet Jackson and the guys.

And a few minutes after we left.... Erin and Jax got to meet the band. She said there were about 30 people left by then. And they waited till the crowd by Jackson wasn't nuts. So they spoke to Ben G, Ben J and Jarad first.

Then they got to talk to Jackson and got pics with him. :( I wish I was there and didn't have to leave! I vow next time I will get to meet Jackson!

I also got a shirt. Yes a concert shirt actually fits me! The lyrics on the back are funny. Got to take a picture of it. I got the shirt because one line is about spider-monkeys! LMAO You Twilight fans know what that is from! ;).

This was their first performance in NYC. Erin asked how long they have been together and they said 9 months! You would think it was few years they meshed so well.
With different projects on the horizon they don't know when they will be back to play in NYC but I WILL SO BE THERE!
:D

Is jealous of these skillz.

yea I saw this a while ago but well... I am now catching up on entries.

Good movie. Good action and I liked the AU story. Like you could see this movie and not have to know all the Star Trek lore, which I don't. Only the basics.
Also J.J. Abrams was so obviously influenced by Star Wars. No wonder I liked it.
College Humor: Star Wars vs Star Trek

Also the red matter was like the big red ball from Alias. LOL. With JJ involved it is no coincidence.

in case you don't want spoilers )

I don't think I have anymore to add that hasn't been said in other positive reviews already. It has been awhile since I saw it and I'd have to see it again to come up with something compelling. hehe

Saw this last week On Demand. :D I did like this movie. It was quirky, funny but I ruined it for myself by watching clips on youtube. I have to resist the temptation of spoiler clips. :(

I loved Rob. Art was the most adorable dork. But he did have his emotional problems but you got to love him for trying to fix them.

His mother was such a bitch. I wanted to smack her.
His friends were --odd, lol.

I should see it again in a few months (when I have forgotten some key scenes). Maybe then I can have a better viewing experience. I also need to learn my lesson about giving into spoiler clips.
